Maple Season 2014 Has Begun!

Super Bowl Sunday has become the traditional time to tap the trees here in Mount Kisco. With temperatures reaching 50°, the conditions were perfect. The boys and I worked like a well-oiled machine dividing up the tasks of drilling, tapping, and hanging buckets with lids. Ten trees have been tapped and the slow drip of sap has begun. If temperatures rise above freezing during the days ahead, I will have a good supply when ready to start the first batch.
